Quick feet dragbacks – Footwork

Quick feet dragbacks.

Individual Skills Library.

1. Move the ball between your feet as quickly as possible using the insides of your feet only.

2. Every 5-6 touches, touch the ball forward slightly and using the right foot, drag the ball back towards you then immediately push it out a couple of feet to the right using the outside of the foot. So the dragback and push out to the side are part of the same motion. Move back into touching the ball 5-6 times with the inside of your feet again and repeat with a left foot dragback and push out to the side. Repeat this process.

3. You can shorten the number of touches to make it more difficult (so dragback push outside every 2-3 touches) or increase it to make things slightly easier (9-10 touches then dragback and push outside).

4. Test yourself – move the ball between your feet at speed and perform the dragback and push outside as quickly as possible. See how quickly you can go straight back into the insides quick feet and maintain a perfect rhythm. You should not move away from the area you are working in, only moving fowards/backwards a couple of steps and left/right a couple of steps.
