Rapid dribble dragbacks – Footwork

Rapid dribble dragbacks.

1. Start by dribbling the ball forward with your right foot, taking 2 quick touches.

2. Immediately drag the ball back with the right foot (take 2 or 3 quick touches) before repeating this process with the left foot (2 touches forward then 2-3 dragbacks).

3. The idea is to switch feet quickly and continue a smooth but rapid rhythm going forwards and backwards alternately with each foot.

4. Test yourself – from the outset go as fast as possible. Work in short bursts as this is taxing on the leg muscles. 20-30 seconds is usually enough if you are working at maximum speed – this exercise will really help develop your foot speed so focus!
