Speed feint – 1v1 Moves

Speed feint 1v1 move.

Individual Skills Library.

1. Setup two cones (or use t-shirts if you don’t have cones) to act as a defender or if you have a partner, they can act as the defender (they should be passive and not try to tackle you).

2. Give yourself some space (around 7 or 8 metres) and run at full speed at the cones/defender.

3. As your approach the cones, use your upper body to feint in one direction and quickly push the ball with the outside of your foot and move past the cones in the other direction.

3. The key is the speed of the feint and push past the defender/cones. The feint simply throws the defender slightly off balance and that gives you a tiny window of opportunity to pass the defender on his other side.

4. This is probably the most basic 1v1 move in soccer but it also happens to be the most commonly used among players of all levels as it is arguably the most effective move available to you when performed correctly at speed.

5. Work on your right foot only first of all, then switch to using your left before doing alternate 1v1 moves with both feet.

6. Test yourself – work at full speed at really emphasise the feint. You won’t be able to do it perfectly every time and will make mistakes, that’s a guarantee – the important thing is that you push yourself to work at max intensity.
